Quilts by my Australian Friends

This past weekend I was at a quilt retreat, and we hosted some special quilters from Australia.  Besides getting to quilt all day and night (my average bed time was 2am), we ate a lot of delicious snacks, chatted, and had fun checking out each other’s projects as they took shape.  I started out with a large (for me!) baby quilt and made smaller and smaller quilts as the weekend went on.  At the end I started on the blocks for a teeny tiny quilt, which I will have to show you all when it gets done.  I also get a chance to make a prototype for my next pattern, so look for that soon!

My Australian friends made some quilts from my Quick Trip pattern, and they were gracious enough to let me share them here.  This first quilt is from Carmel, who, like me, “likes fiddly things”!  She added extra borders to make it large enough to use as a table mat.  The blue borders really pop!

This next quilt is by Brenda, and it has a cool retro feel:

And this last quilt is by Marge.  I love the flowers, they are so fun and bright!

Thank you so much for sharing, ladies!  It’s so fun to see how people interpret my patterns and make them their own!

Until next time!

My Newest Pattern

I’ve been meaning to get around to letting you all know that my latest pattern, A Quick Trip, is now available at http://www.rossvillequilts.com.  Although it looks like you have to sew a bunch of tiny squares together, you don’t.  It is entirely strip pieced, and it uses scraps that, if you’re like me, you have hanging around in your stash!  The best part is that you only have to decide on four colors; you just need to make sure they stand out from each other so the pattern doesn’t get lost.  Thanks for reading!
